The editors of The Communicator magazine are seeking articles for the upcoming Fall, 2025 issue.  The focus of the issue is “Emergencies! 

You are invited to submit an outline for an article relating to this topic.  The following are some suggested article materials, but are by no means the only topics.  We welcome your ideas!

  1. Emergency Special Assessments – When and how are they imposed?
  2. Earthquakes: the big one is coming.  Do you need earthquake insurance or is there a better way to financially prepare for an earthquake?
  3. How to protect against cybercrime?  
  4. Fire suppression or other building safety systems.
  5. How to identify & prevent embezzlement?
  6. Mold!
  7. Sewer back-ups, roof leaks and pipe breaks.  How to immediately respond and how to determine who is ultimately responsible for the repairs?
  8. Using your business partners to develop a disaster preparedness plan.
  9. Cleaning up after a building fire.
  10. Are your reserves sufficient to address an emergency?
  11. Seismic Building Codes.  What Association’s need to know to protect their buildings?

Articles may be co-authored and should range between 650 and 2200 words.  Articles should not be advertisements for the author’s company or services.  Please submit article outlines to Erik Rosales at [email protected] or Morgan Hurlbutt at [email protected] by July 11, 2025.  Final draft articles are to be sent to Erik Rosales at [email protected] or Morgan Hurlbutt at [email protected] in Word format no than August 15, 2025. Articles may not be A.I. generated, in whole or in part.  Articles that are found to be A.I. generated will not be appear in the magazine. Authors and/or companies that submit A.I. generated articles may be banned from future submissions at the discretion of the editors or the Chapter Board of Directors and may also be subject to discipline by the Board of Directors.
